Shuana Niessen is the Open Education & Publishing Manager at the Center for Teaching and Learning at the University of Regina. She received a B.Ed. and an M.Ed. (Curriculum and Instruction) from the University of Regina.
Ms. Niessen has managed an open-access journal for many years, along with authoring, designing, and publishing an ebook and website (Shattering the Silence: The Hidden History of Indian Residential Schools in Saskatchewan) and serving as Editor for an online news magazine. These experiences have involved the use of open-source tools along with all sorts of creative technologies.
