University of Regina President’s Award for Teaching Excellence

The University of Regina President’s Award for Teaching Excellence is the premier internal teaching excellence award for the academic year. One award is given annually to an individual who has displayed excellence in teaching and learning at the University of Regina and/or its Federated Colleges.

Nominations for this award must come from the candidate’s Dean, Associate Dean, and/or Department Head; however, students, alumni, faculty members, and others are encouraged to recommend individuals who have demonstrated outstanding achievements and contributions to teaching and learning.

University of Regina Provost’s Award for Innovation in Teaching

The Provost’s Award for Innovation in Teaching recognizes faculty members with excellence in pedagogical innovation.

Pedagogical innovation may include, but is not limited to, the innovative use of technology; innovative approaches to pedagogy that support equity, diversity, inclusion, and accessibility; innovative practices for the Indigenization of curriculum and instruction; innovative assessment practices; and innovative approaches to student engagement.

One award is given annually to an individual who has displayed evidence of outstanding innovative practices in teaching and learning at the University of Regina and/or its Federated Colleges.

University of Regina New Faculty Teaching Award of Recognition

The University of Regina New Faculty Teaching Award of Recognition recognizes significant teaching excellence, growth, and development for new faculty members within their first three years of employment.

One award is given annually to an individual who, early in their academic career, has displayed excellence in teaching at the University of Regina and/or its Federated Colleges.

University of Regina Award of Excellence in Experiential Learning

The University of Regina Award of Excellence in Experiential Learning recognizes outstanding achievement by those engaged in the development and facilitation of experiential learning activities.

Experiential learning activities may include, but are not limited to, co-curricular activities, work-integrated activities, curriculum-integrated activities, research-based activities, and community-engaged activities.

This award is given annually to an individual who has displayed excellence in leadership and innovation with such initiatives for the benefit of undergraduate and/or graduate students at the University of Regina and its Federated Colleges.

University of Regina Award of Excellence in Public Education and Outreach

The University of Regina Award of Excellence in Public Education and Outreach recognizes outstanding achievement by academics who have made substantial and sustained contributions to the greater community through public education, engagement, and outreach.

Such contributions may include, but are not limited to, sharing research through news media, developing public workshops and presentations, creating community-focused educational materials, providing public performances for community enhancement and education, engaging with communities, and promoting citizen voice and empowerment.
