Young students campus helps friend catching up and learning

The Centre for Teaching and Learning and Flexible Learning (FL), Centre for Continuing Education (CCE) at the University of Regina, are pleased to announce a joint initiative offering UR Courses-focused, instructional design consultations with Darrel Lawlor, Instructional Designer at Flexible Learning.  One-on-one 30-minute consultations can be booked for Wednesday afternoons from 1:00 – 4:30 pm, beginning March 18th, 2026, and continuing until December 16th, 2026, with the possibility of extension.

This service provides instructional design support including guidance on pedagogical best practices for UR Courses tools to all academic staff teaching University of Regina and federated college courses with the exception of online and blended courses already being developed with DDL funding. Areas of support include, but are not limited to:

  • Review of UR Courses layout, navigation, and overall readability
  • Recommendations for effective use of UR Courses tools (e.g. H5P Interactive Content) and functionalities to enhance learner engagement and collaboration
  • Guidance on Universal Design for Learning (UDL) and accessibility as related to UR Courses
  • Advice on creating and designing assessments (such as exams, quizzes, tests etc.) in UR Courses, including considerations arising from the increasing use of GenAI by students.

Note: If you wish to develop asynchronous online or synchronous/asynchronous blended online courses, you are encouraged to apply for Distance and Distributed Learning (DDL) funding in May and October each year. For more information, please visit https://ursource.uregina.ca/cce/ddl/index.html
