Dr. Megan Perram

Dr. Megan Perram is a tenure-track Assistant Professor in the Department of English and Creative Writing at Campion College, University of Regina, specializing in digital literature and new media studies. Her research focuses on choice-based digital illness narratives, representations of pathologized bodies, popular culture and digital cultures, and pedagogical approaches to generative AI and digital literature.
Her first book, Hyperandrogenism and the Marginalization of Pathologized Bodies: Exploring Therapeutic Storytelling in Hypertext Illness Narratives (Routledge, 2026), examines how hypertext illness narratives create new possibilities for representing and understanding marginalized embodied experiences.
Prior to joining academia, Dr. Perram was a Senior Policy Advisor with the Alberta Ministry of Mental Health and Addiction, where she contributed to the development of drug policy legislation on Compassionate Intervention. She also served as a Strategic Initiatives Advisor at the University of Alberta.
